The Ovation Hurricane is the most rare member of the Electric Storm Series.  Unofficial estimates put the total  manufacturing run at about 200-300 units.  The body is common with the Tornado - spruce top and maple back and sides.  The electronics are also common, with dual volume and tone controls for the two high output pickups.  The very earliest versions had a narrower 1-11/16 neck squared off at the body end.  The majority of Hurricanes were equipped with a more traditional 1-3/4 with neck and the end was finished in the mustache shape of the Thunderhead.  The tuners are chrome Klusons with mini-buttons.  The example shown below is a very early 1968 version with serial number 615 hand written.  The original pickguard did not have the Ovation logo.  The one shown is a replacement.  Click HERE for specifications.
