Ovation Classical Guitar

Ovation is not significantly known as a maker of classical guitars, although many of their nylon strung models including the Classical, Country Artist and Viper Nylon have found their way into jazz, pop, country and Latin music.  Despite the small numbers, Ovation has quietly produced some very fine nylon strung instruments.  Shown here is the model 1713 deep bowl classical in the rare black gloss finish.  The contrast of the white multi-ply binding, the floral rosette, and the gold hardware set this off as one of the most beautiful guitars in my collection.  Standard classical features include a flat 2" width neck, 12 frets clear to the body.  The electronics package consists of a tru-balance pickup specially modified for the intonation of nylon strings and an Ovation OP-24 pre-amp.  Click HERE for specifications.
