There's
just something about 12 fret, wideneck slotheads that's
"right". And when it's a Martin HD-28VS it's VERY
right. The sitka spruce top, herringbone binding and rosewood
back/sides make a slope shouldered D body that just pumps out the
tone. Bone saddle and nut, of course. The 12 fret neck with
snowflake MOP inlays is 1-3/4 inch wide at the nut and tops off with a
beautiful slotted headstock sporting Waverly open gear tuners.
Beyond the stunning good looks, this vintage series model has a very big
sound, yet can be as delicate as a feather if the call arises. All
things considered, this is truly a candidate for "the best"
status.
